Axion Esti Apiculture Museum and Greek Organic Honey

Who is Axion Esti?

Greek organic honey Axion Esti comes from a Greek family business with a long tradition in beekeeping, located in the mountainous regions of Arcadia and Evia. Since 1957, the Dimakopoulos family has been working with bees, producing organic honey, propolis, bee pollen, and other bee products using strict, natural methods. The beehives are moved to areas with rich, wild vegetation, far from pollution and intensive agriculture, allowing the bees to collect nectar and honeydew from hundreds of different flowers and trees.

Greek organic honey Axion Esti: types and taste profiles

Axion Esti's range consists of various unique types of organic honey, each with its own flavour profile and origin. With Axion Esti Greek organic honey, you're not just getting one standard product, but a series of terroir honeys with distinct differences in taste, colour and aroma.

  • Organic flower and forest honey: a full-bodied, sweet honey with a bright colour and rich aromas, originating from mountainous Arcadia and Evia, with nectar from thousands of flowers and honeydew from conifer trees such as pine and fir.

  • Organic oak honey: harvested from the famous Foloi oak forests of the Peloponnese, with a deep colour, caramel notes and a high content of minerals and trace elements.

  • Organic chestnut honey: a powerful, slightly bitter honey with a very high mineral content, ideal for lovers of distinctive flavours.

  • Organic honey with bee pollen: a combination of forest and flower honey with fresh, organic pollen from our own bees, a true superfood with high nutritional value and a creamy texture.

Additionally, I am expanding the offering in the Netherlands with extra Axion Esti honey varieties, so you can discover even more Greek organic honey from Axion Esti:

Axion Esti Apiculture Museum: honey as an experience

What makes Greek organic honey Axion Esti extra special is that it’s not just about honey in jars, but also about experience and education. In Argolis in the Peloponnese, the family runs the Axion Esti Apiculture Museum, where visitors can see, smell, taste, and experience the world of bees.

Visitors are given a tour of the history of beekeeping, see traditional materials, step into a hexagonal exhibition space inspired by a honeycomb, and conclude with an extensive honey tasting. Online reviews describe the honey tasting and the oak and chestnut honey from Axion Esti as absolute favourites.
